Our eyes met. His big brown eyes grew even wider. It was a deep intense stare. You could almost hear his mind ticking over as he examined me closely. “What was this stranger going to do? Should I trust him? Do I let him get any closer?”
No amount of baby talk was going to break that glare. As the seconds ticked he had finally made his decision. His mouth started to pout and then he turned on the water works.
This is the reaction I get from him every time he sees me, his Uncle Warren.
Newborn Photography – A Year of Celebrations
This year has been a year full of celebrations for our family. I have already written about the birth of my baby daughter, Aria, in September and her newborn photography session, but earlier this year I also became an Uncle.
My brother became a dad for the first time. So I am very proud to share these images of my nephew, that were taken at his newborn photography session.
I guess I’m not his favourite person at the moment but it wasn’t always like this. At his photo session he was a trooper working with me through an array of poses with not much fuss. Now, for some reason one look at me sends him into the sooks. It’s kind of funny though and everyone else also gets a good laugh out of it. I’m now known as Scary Uncle Warren.
He was only 10 days old when he had his newborn photos taken. Time has flown by because he is now crawling all over the place.
I’m working on improving our relationship. The last time we ‘played’, he let me get within arm’s length of him. Slow steps.

If you are interested in a newborn photography session then it is very important that you have a chat to us before your baby is born. The best time to have your baby photographed as a newborn is when they are between 6 and 14 days old. Trust me you don’t want to be thinking about finding a newborn photographer after your baby is born…you will have enough on your plate already 🙂
