Family Photos

Here are a selection of family photos from our latest family shoot. Three fantastic boys, all with great personalities.

On this occasion I wanted to try something a little bit different by capturing family photos while having the two older boys role play. Sometimes as a photographer, when working with kids the best approach is to go with the flow and role play even if you look silly doing so. One of my clients continues to say that one of her highlights from their family photo session was of me shouting in a high pitch voice while doing twirls with a teddy bear on my head. Lucky for me there were no cameras around 🙂

Kids then see you as something other than a strange adult and drop their guard. That’s when the magic happens and great images are captured. On this occasion I had the pleasure to work with ‘the rapper’ (Nathan), ‘the martial arts expert’ (Christian) and the youngest of the trio Cameron (career path yet to be decided). Having spoken to the parents before their session I discovered what the kids were interested in and devised a set of scenarios around that.

With four males to deal with Phoung (mum) has a lot on her plate but she is absolutely loving it.

Here I ask Nathan to give me the “I’m too cool for school” look.

Christian did his best trying to imitate a Ninja Turtle or was it a Samurai warrior?

These guys are going to form some very strong bonds as they grow up. Little Cameron is in good hands, having his older brothers to look after him and to look up to.

I love this photo of Dad and young son. I think Cameron is going to love it too when he is old enough to appreciate it.

Congratulations Phil and Phuong on raising such great kids……hope you enjoy the family photos. Your kids will be grown up before you know it so I am glad I can do my part in preserving your memories of this precious stage in your family’s life.

When was the last time you had your family photos taken professionally? I believe that every family with young kids should have them done every few years so that your precious memories are recorded as part of your family’s legacy.  Images taken on phones can be handy to have and share on Facebook but nothing can beat beautiful portraits printed and hung in your home.
