Frankie goes to Bentleigh – Relax (don’t dig the plants)
Katherine and Andy are friends of ours who decided to have their dog, Frankie photographed a few months back. Frankie is a Schnoodle which means he is a Poodle crossed with a Schnauzer.
Being their first dog, Frankie, how should I put it, ….is spoiled rotten, but how can you resist when you witness the bond the three of them share. Frankie, is an incredible bundle of energy that just doesn’t stop bouncing around. A few weeks ago we looked after him while Kath and Andy went to Sydney. It was the first time we had a dog in the yard since Oscar’s passing last year. (You can read about Oscar’s last dog photography session here) I forgot how much trouble young dogs can be 🙂 After a few days there were plenty of holes in the garden beds but unlike Kath’s experience (read below) we were lucky to come away with all are plants intact.
Thanks once again guys for giving us the opportunity to photograph Frankie and sharing some of your experiences with him.

How old was he when you got him?
9 weeks
How did you come up with his name?
Well there was a bit of a debate over this but “Frank” is the name of Andy’s favourite character off “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. My consolation is that we don’t have to name our first born son Frank! In hindsight his name works really well for his scruffy naughty nature 🙂
Any specific circumstances on how/why you got him?
I’d wanted a dog my whole life! Finally being able to get one was the greatest feeling in the world.
What is his character like?
He is very loyal and probably too smart for his own good. He loves cuddles and has a morbid fear of brooms.
Funniest thing they have ever done?
Well, in one week he managed to not only eat one of our cactuses (we could find no trace of it) and a sombrero. We’d be too scared to ever take him to Mexico.
When does he make you smile/laugh?
Nothing compares to coming home after a long day at work to Frankie’s unconditional love. He’s always so excited and happy to see us – makes you realize just how important we are to him.
He also loves trying to get us to chase him around the house, so often sneaks up on us and tries to steal socks to kick start the game.
When does he make you angry?
Well before we had Frankie I had a thriving garden. Turns out that two of his favourite pastimes are pulling plants apart and digging big holes. Needless to say we’ve downgraded our garden a little.
Favorite thing you like doing with him?
Frankie loves going on road trips with his head hanging out the window the whole way! One of our favourite places to take him is the dog beach at Brighton. The place is fenced off to allow the dogs to run around together. He usually runs around like an idiot the whole time loving every minute of it.
Do you have a furry companion that you love to bits? Then you should consider a dog photography session at our Bentleigh studios. If you have kids, get them involved as well and create beautiful memories that they can look back and see what life was like with their pet.
Thinking about having your pooch’s portrait done? Then contact the studio on 9570 6191 or email us here.
Take care
