The Joy of Being a Kids Photographer

Daniel’s parents are overseas on business. So we thought it would be a great idea to surprise them when they return with an impromptu photo shoot.

As a kids photographer I love the fact that I can bring smiles and happiness to those families I photograph. Sometimes it is their very first professional photo session. They are likely to be use to seeing their kids in poor quality snap shots taken on their phone. So having quality images of their kids properly posed, neatly dressed and displaying their unique personalities is extremely important to them.

Although Daniel says he doesn’t miss his parents because he is “having so much fun with grandma”, we think he is just putting on a brave face. Also, word on the street is that Mum is homesick and missing her little angel so much. I am sure you’ll agree that this surprise sneak peek is sure to bring a warm glow to both Mum and Dad and make them even more eager to catch that flight home.

Daniel is such a handsome young man. He can really turn on the charm and is great at taking directions. Maybe there is a budding actor in our midst? He was all up for doing his best during his photo session as he really wanted to please his parents when they came back.

I’m sure you’ll agree he did a fantastic job.

As a kids photographer it is important to build the child’s trust and keep them engaged before they lose interest. This can be a real challenge sometimes and it is something both parents and I discuss before a session and come up with a plan to overcome.

On this occasion we created a video of Daniel’s photo session. I mentioned earlier that he would be a good actor, well having him ‘act’ while producing the video was a great way in keeping him engaged during his photo session. You can see the video here.
