If you have spent sometime exploring our website you would have picked up that we are a major advocate for our clients purchasing prints and wall art for their homes. There is nothing better than holding your photographs or being reminded each day of the love that you have for your family members when you look at them proudly hanging on your wall.

Is There Anything Better than a Beautiful Wall Portrait?

Well possibly not but a moving image comes close. Moving image? Well of course I’m talking about video.

We spent awhile thinking about how we could make our client’s portrait experience with us a lot more special and came up with the idea of offering a video package of to go with their portrait wall art. This is a great option for parents who want to document their talented kids skills. It may be in music, sport, whatever.  BUT Hey, in my opinion every child is talented in some way…No Exceptions! So a video of your child just being themselves is a great way to remember them as they are now. Their personality, their voice their activities and behaviours.

Why Is Video So Special?

Video is all about story telling. Photographs can and have been used to tell stories but each photograph can be interpreted differently by a viewer. No such chance with video. With sound and motion, video is something you can look back on generations from now. I can only imagine the delight that it would bring me if I saw a video of my  parents, as young children.

So why aren’t more families using video to document their lives? I don’t know.

Create a Video of Your Talented Kids

Our “All About Me” sessions are a great way to showcase your child’s personality and the best thing is that the video making can be carried out during your child’s portrait photography session.

The videos can be used to document your child as they are now. Their personality, their voice, their activities and behaviours.

We could even do an interview type video. Have you ever seen those cute viral videos of school children talking about grown up topics? Well envisage a video where your child discusses and answers questions about their hopes and dreams and what they would like to be when they grow up. Now imagine watching that video 10 years later when they are in their late teens. How powerful would that be?

Does your child have a passion or talent?  For talented kids who like to dance, paint, play sport or a musical instrument, All About Me videos are an excellent opportunity to document their growing interests and talents.

How does it work?

Due to the extra amount of work an All About Me video requires, we recommend not combining its production during a family portrait session. Instead they can be easily created during a portrait session of a single child.

If you require family portraits as well as a video of a child, then the video would need to be made at a separate dedicated session.
