– Diary of a Photographer –
Have you ever told yourself that you can’t do something because your’e not talented enough? Heck, I reckon everyone has and each of us will probably continue to do so until the day we die.
As young children we stop pursuing various activities because we are either told we are not good enough or we loose interest.
Question: Do we loose interest because we genuinely don’t like something or because when we first tried it, we were not good at it so had no interest to pursue it?
I have always considered myself bad at drawing. But apparently being good at art has nothing to do with talent. Art is a skill you can develop by learning and understanding different stages and concepts. This short video by The Virtual Instructor explains it perfectly.
When it comes to drawing, many adults only progress to the equivalent standard of an eleven year old. Like me they just think that they can’t draw and never try to get better.
There are many other things in life that I consider myself bad at. Imagine if this theory applies to all of those things!!!
Wouldn’t that be interesting?
Until next time.
Take care
Warren
I’ve read somewhere that it is good therapy to write everyday. Separate to the main blog on Volare Photography, Diary Of A Photographer is a way for me to express thoughts that clutter my head but maybe inspire or provoke thoughts in yours.
