– Diary of a Photographer –
These days we want everything faster. We expect it and when we don’t get it we complain and get cranky!
Faster service. Faster internet. Faster delivery. Faster consumption and access to information.
We want information so fast these days that we walk around with mini computers in our pockets. Instead of sitting down and taking the time to enjoy reading a good book we now can read books electronically on the go, listen to audio books while we drive or access them using headphones while we exercise.
That’s why I was pleasantly surprised this week while doing my Christmas shopping. You see I walked in to a bookshop and guess what? It was crowded!!!
Yes, a crowded bookshop with real books that you can touch and flip through!
Here’s a quick snap shot to prove it.
It is comforting to know that The Book is not dead.
The Book Is Not Dead Share on XThe same can be said about a photograph that has been printed.
We take thousands of photos with our phones and cameras but thankfully people still realise that it is not the same as having those photos as prints.
There is nothing better than holding and feeling a printed photo of a loved one. That extra sense adds so much more value over any image viewed on a screen could ever have.
Until next time.
Take care
Warren
I’ve read somewhere that it is good therapy to write everyday. Separate to the main blog on Volare Photography, Diary Of A Photographer is a way for me to express thoughts that clutter my head but maybe inspire or provoke thoughts in yours.
