China Comes to Glen Eira – McKinnon Primary School Chinese Festival

McKinnon Primary School Chinese Festival

Well done to everyone involved in the organisation and running of McKinnon Primary School’s inaugural Chinese Festival. It was a huge day and everyone I spoke to said that they were having a great time. What made it special for me was seeing the excited looks on the faces of the students, whether it was while they were marching during the street parade or as each dance group received a tremendous round of applause for their well choreographed Chinese dance routines. The obvious sense of achievement that was felt throughout the student body was evident to me once I had interviewed three Year 3 students, Aniqua, Olivia and Ido, before the event. Their beaming smiles and excited chatter said it all. You can listen to their story here McKinnon Primary School Chinese Festival.

I was extremely proud to be involved as a sponsor in such an amazing community event. I would like to wish the students and teachers at McKinnon Primary School continued success with their Chinese language program and establishing stronger ties with their sister school in China.

I have posted a short clip and some images below of the days event.

Enjoy

we dont have year 7 at mckinnon primary

  • Hey Meghan, thanks for stopping by. You are correct, that was my mistake. I should have written Year 3 and it has been fixed. Are you a parent or a teacher? Either way you should be very proud of what your school has achieved this year!!

  • Thanks for the feedback Deb. There was so much to photograph and this was just a broad selection I made to show snippets of each main activity on display.
    Take care
